We exhibited at the "Monozukuri Experience Stadium," to be held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation's Exhibition and Event Hall from Saturday, August 23rd to Sunday, August 24th, 2025.
This event, co-hosted by the Monozukuri Nippon Kaigi and the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, aims to allow children to experience the charm and fun of manufacturing. Our exhibit was based on the theme of "Let's experience making and playing with a 3D printer!"
Participants created catapults (toys modeled after ancient catapults that launch balls far away) using a resin 3D printer, which they removed from their frames, sanded, and assembled like plastic models. Afterwards, participants played a target shooting game with the finished products, competing against each other for the highest total score.
Not only the children, but their families also took the time to file the products and play the target shooting game with their children. They seemed to have enjoyed themselves, with many saying, "I'll make similar targets and play with my kids when I get home."
We also set up a resin 3D printer so participants could see it in action up close, and we also had a display of copper products made with a metal 3D printer, which all interested participants, and all the staff feel that they were able to get a taste of the appeal of manufacturing.
Thank you to everyone for taking part.
